Holidays
I'm Dreaming of a Silver Laptop
As the holiday season has completely crept up on me, I have to say when it comes to gift buying, I am the absolute worst. I'm one of those people who doesn't shop on Black Friday, or Cyber Monday or Two-fer Tuesday or Give Back Sunday. Oh no, when it comes to my shopping habits, I'm the one customer who will manage to find the one pair of Coach boots that aren't on sale and despite the fact that I can buy another style that's more than half the price, I'd rather pay top dollar for what I love instead of settle for something that's just not exactly what I'm looking for.
As I think about all the things I'd really want for the holidays, my thoughts keep coming back to one place. The Apple Store. You see, after reading the Steve Jobs book, I think I've become a total Apple fanatic. In fact, the very first Apple Store just opened at Grand Central Station in New York City and I think I am finally going to break down and treat myself to the one item that is going to prevent myself from looking like a hunchback by the time I hit retirement age. If you're wondering, what I'm talking about then you haven't yet tried the Mac Book Air.
Lighter than a feather - okay not quite that light - but incredibly light nonetheless, I am convinced that once I step upstairs to the newest Apple store, it'll be like walking through the gates of Heaven (if heaven has a big logo of an apple at the entrance). Here's my perfect scenario. I walk up the steps, am instantly greeted by one of those Apple tech representatives who take my name with their iPhone and minutes later, I'm greeted by some knowledgeable computer geek who shows me all the bells and whistles of the Mac Book Air.
After holding the laptop in my hands and placing it in my shoulder bag to feel how heavy it will be while commuting, I will have instantly made my decision, and the geeky salesman will ring up my order, head to the back and seconds later, he'll be carrying out the ultimate gift for me this holiday season. Sure, it's not a diamond, or a pair of nice boots but when you're a blogger, the best holiday gifts are the one that have wifi. And for me, it's a laptop that's super light, super cool and if I'm not careful, will probably be hijacked by my tween the moment I walk into my house.
So what must have holiday item has been keeping you up at night? Do tell!
