My Fave Running Shoes
If the shoe fits, wear it.
Or in my case, keep on wearing it forever.
Right now, I'm all over the Asics 2150 but I've been in this series of shoes for ages. Yes, I purchase new running sneakers every few months, although it might not look like it when you consider the mud splashed all over my pair of sneaks in this photo!
Finding just the right running shoe that works for your body type and running style is a fine art. And once you find a shoe that fits, it's wise to keep on wearing the same brand & model to prevent injuries, blisters, and to maintain your running form. I find the slightest changes in my footwear can cause dramatic injuries since it can be a big change for your body.
No joke, I've been wearing basically the same version of Asics running shoes for about 20 years! For the last 5 years, I've been in this 2100 series, but years ago in the 1990's I wore Asics Gel Exults, a very popular running shoe that has long gone extinct and was basically replaced by the series of shoes I'm sporting nowadays.
For a laugh, here is a fun picture of my running glory days in high school, 17 years ago back when I was just starting to wear Asics. (And obviously had a thing for leopard print biker shorts!!!)
I admit the shoes are basically the same, but this runner looks a lot older now!

Prior to becoming a Mom, I was certainly a serious runner, competing on a Divison I sports team in college and running regular road races including a marathon in Alaska. Thus, my dedication to just the right shoe for my foot. Nowadays, I'm more casual although I've been training for a half marathon this Spring and was very excited to compete - until my plans were foiled by my sick preschoolers.
Hoping my stars will align soon for just the right race!
One thing is certain, I'll be wearing my Asics!
