Even though Christmas comes along once a year, I have to say that it feels like the holiday season has arrived early for me. The reason? Some of the best movies of the year have hit theaters this summer and I feel like a kid anxiously opening her favorite gifts!
First up was "The Help," which opened in theaters nationwide this week. My mom and I read the book in a matter of days and got the chance to catch a preview and after laughing, crying and cheering for the main characters, we felt "The Help" absolutely stayed true to the novel and we totally loved it.
Another book I read last summer that I couldn't put done at all was "One Day," a novel about a British couple who meet during a one night stand in the eighties who carry on an on again off again friendship and romance that spans twenty years. I remember last year when I was reading the book and falling in love with the characters that it was being turned into a movie and even back then, I couldn't wait until it came out. Well, as I said, the holidays for me have arrived early. On August 19th I'm taking a movie holiday and "One Day" will be one of my gifts to me.
