Scorpio Mom Horoscope: April 9 – April 15
Won't you be my neighbor, Scorpio? You might be helpless to say “no” now, thanks to planet Pluto's retrograde (backward) turn in your third house of technology, communication, and community. From this Tuesday until September 18, Pluto (your ruling planet), encourages you to take a second look at the people, places, and things that you've been taking for granted: the mom across the street with kids exactly the same ages as yours, the great neighborhood coffee shop perfect for monthly book club meetings, and your child's amazing school and teachers. You're normally a bit withholding or (wince) cold, but now it's time to dig deep into those buried realms of confidence, intimacy, and warmth, and share with the people around you.
Work to deepen your relationship with the world now: join the curriculum committee of the PTA, get to work as a family in a community garden, and visit local museums and galleries (and maybe even become official “members” of said museums). What's stopping you from chatting with the other moms at the playground? Even if it takes until September to be a full-fledged member of the crew, Pluto retrograde will have not been for naught.
Your third house also rules transportation, Scorpio, so investigate some new ways to get around town that don't include filling up the van or the SUV with another expensive tank of gas. If you're in the market for a new set of wheels, check out a hybrid option such as the Chevy Volt, or consider outfitting the fam with some cool new bikes for weekend rides about town. Are you a new mom struggling to negotiate a heavy-duty stroller here, there, and everywhere? Look into slings, wraps, and baby carriers that not only give your little one necessary "tummy time" (yes, this counts!), but also make you more mobile. Did you really want to buy that $800 status stroller? We didn't think so.
Another push towards getting more social occurs on Friday, when assertive Mars (in retrograde motion since January 23) finally turns direct (forward). From now until July 3, you'll probably find group dynamics much less fiery than they’ve been for the past few months, and any event planning should prove easier (and less fraught with obstacles). Mars can lend an aggressive touch to relationships, so beware temper tantrums and power grabs (not that we're pointing fingers, tempestuous toddlers and tormented tweens!). Up the ante when it comes to your exercise, too: Pilates has it plusses, yes, but you may be more in the mood for Zumba or African dance.
