Take a Labor Day Break with Lifetime
I don't know about you, but personally, I am dreading that summer is coming to a close. We recently took our last vacation to Maine and now that I'm unpleasingly plump (who said lobster is low cal?), I'm still not ready to dive back into a workout routine. In fact, this weekend, I'm in the mood to do what I do best - curl up on the couch in full potato mode and watch a Lifetime Movie marathon with some of my favorite actresses of all time!
Check out the Labor Day schedule:
11am-1pm: "Management" - Send your family out for breakfast and a day at a water park so that you can park you buns in front of the tube and catch the always adorable Jennifer Aniston, who stars along with Steve Zahn. Aniston plays Sue, a saleswoman who stops into a motel during a business trip and has a fleeting affair with Mike, the owner. But once Sue leaves, Mike realizes he may have finally found his true love and he's soon in quick pursuit.
1-3 pm: "Never Been Kissed" - I have a confession to make. This classic late nineties film, starring Drew Barrymore is by far one of my absolute favorites. You should also know that my daughter's middle name is Drew - no I am not a stalker - I just adore Drew Barrymore! Why do I love "Never Been Kissed" so much? Simple, it's the classic tale of an ugly duckling who was taunted in high school, makes a popularity comeback when she goes undercover as a reporter at her old high school, and then eventually gets the guy of her dreams. Seriously, can it get any better than that? I don't think so! Take a look...
3-5 pm: "In the Land of Women" - Another one of my favorite actresses, Meg Ryan stars in this film that features Adam Brody and Kristen Stewart. Brody stars as Carter, a young man who finds himself distraught after breaking up with his girlfriend so he can take care of his grandmother. He soon meets up with the Hardwicke sisters (Ryan and Stewart) who live across the street. His special bond with the women affects each of their lives and ultimately Carter's as well.
5-7 pm: "No Reservations" - For all you foodie mamas - and I know there are tons of you - you'll love watching Catherine Zeta Jones as an accomplished master chef at a trendy Manhattan restaurant. While she's a perfectionist and a workaholic in the kitchen and intimidates those around her, Kate's life is turned upside down when her sister dies in a car crash and she must care for her niece, played by the incredibly talented Abigail Breslin. After you catch this film, it'll be time for a tissue break!
7-9 pm "Bringing Down the House" - There is something about Queen Latifah that always makes me smile. In this film, she stars as Charlene, a prison inmate who meets a divorced lonely guy (played by Steve Martin) online while she's still behind bars. Head over prison pinstripes, Charlene breaks out of jail so she can be with her man and of course, hilarity ensues.
9-11:30 pm "Notting Hill" - Want to know how to end a perfect movie viewing evening? Pair Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant together and you will have officially made my night. Roberts portrays Anna Scott, a beautiful and famous American actress who crosses paths with William Thacker (Hugh Grant), a bumbling London bookshop owner. Despite their differences, romance blossoms amidst the flashbulbs of the paparazzi. Ahh...a match made in movie heaven.
