5 Fun and Free Sites For Kids
Like most moms, I'm pretty particular about what sites I will let my children use online. I want something that's both educational, age appropriate, and engaging.
To this end, here are five sites that are mom tested and kid approved. But the best part is they're all absolutely free to use!
Nick Jr. – This has been a favorite of my children for as long as I can remember. You'll find a huge variety of games and activities from favorites such as Dora, Diego, The Backyardigans, Max & Ruby and more.
Noggin – Noggin is another great resource for good, clean kiddie fun. There are plenty of games, videos, and even printables for a little offline fun. This is sure to be a rainy day crowd pleaser.
Sesame Street – This site is bound to bring back memories of your own childhood. Filled with educational activities that incorporate all of the Sesame Street cast that you've loved since you were a kid, this is a site that will entertain your child as well as teach him or her valuable lessons.
Playhouse Disney – The whole Disney Playhouse cast is here, from Mickey to Pooh and Handy Manny too. Watch full episodes of your favorite shows online, put together virtual puzzles, and print coloring pages featuring your favorite characters.
Nick – The slightly older crowd will love Nickelodeon's site. With games and videos galore, surely there's something that will grab the attention of your school-aged child. SpongeBob Squarepants will keep them laughing, as well as The Penguins of Madagascar, The Fairly OddParents, and more.
Of course I'd be negligent not to mention that it's still important for parents to oversee their child's computer time, but supervised use can be a fantastic learning tool that will also increase their computer skills.
