7 Personal Care Items You Should Never Pay For
As the economy languishes, retailers are turning to drastic measures just to get consumers into their stores. Combine this with the abundance of manufacturer coupons from Sunday newspaper inserts and, more recently, online printable coupons, and you could find yourself walking out of stores having paid pennies on the dollar for necessities, or in some cases even getting them free.
Put your skepticism aside and just listen for a moment. The key to all of this is learning how to pair a great coupon up with a good sale price and in some instances learning the ins and outs of a store loyalty program. By matching all of these methods up, you can increase your purchasing power exponentially.
So what are 7 items that I haven't paid for in years?
- Shampoo & Conditioner
- Body Wash
- Pain Relievers
Are you surprised? I'm willing to bet you use almost all of these items on a daily basis, so imagine the savings you'd have if you never had to pay for them again!
Of course, it definitely helps to not be loyal to a particular brand, but do not fall under the misconception that these are generic brand products. I'm talking about well-known brands that you see on your TV and in magazines day in and day out.
Maybe all of this sale-finding and coupon-matching sounds like a lot of work, but with the advent of blogs, all of this information is at your fingertips with a simple search. Just Google the name of your favorite store along with the word "deals," and you'll find dozens of sites that have done the hard work for you. Or you can check out the drugstore deals and grocery store deals on my site, Deal Seeking Mom.
Just make your list, clip your coupons, and shop! And of course I'll be sharing more tips on Lifetime Moms soon.
