Summer Fun on the Cheap
The school year is winding down all over the country. The temperature is rising. Are you ready, moms?
I reached a near panic the other day when I realized my kids would soon be out of school, with plenty of free time to fill. While they may prefer hours in front of the TV, I am determined to fill their summer with activities- preferably the free or cheap kind!
I solicited my Facebook fans for some ideas to share here on Lifetime Moms. I also rounded up some helpful links from my fellow Steals & Deals bloggers.
Here is a handy list of free or cheap ideas for Summer fun:
Check your local library for a reading program and list of Summer activities.
Take advantage of your town's Parks & Recreation amenities. You may find a "splash pad" to enjoy on hot days!
Build a giant living room fort with sheets, pillows and blankets. Kids will spend hours "hiding"!
Gardening is a great way to pass the time and save money. Check out my new series on Keeping the Kingdom First all about gardening.
Older children will enjoy bowling. Kids bowl free all over the country this summer.
Have a student with good grades? Check out this whole list of report card freebies.
