For years black woman have battled the stereotype of being super-fertile breeders. Even though this is not true, it has made seeking help for infertility more taboo in our community. And many times, women bear the brunt of the guilt and blame when the problem may be with the male.
But again, these taboo issues prevent a dialogue and keep infertile couples from getting the help they need. How can we change this dynamic? How can black women dealing with infertility get the help they need? We asked noted embryologist, Kendall Smalls, the only black male working in this field at a major hospital to weigh in.
