5 Budget-Friendly Family Activities For The Beach
We just returned from vacation after spending a week at the Jersey Shore in Sea Isle City with our two young children, ages 3 and 5 and we had a blast. The week was full of sunshine, sand, jumping waves, eating ice cream, walking the boardwalk, and spending family time together. We loved every second of it - especially how easy it was to drive only 2 hours to our vacation destination compared to lugging kids around at the airport and dealing with travel delays or a long flight. Plus a week at the beach is very budget friendly - especially since we rented a house and were able to eat the majority of our meals at home minus a few sweet takeout dinners and donut breakfasts.
The kids loved the easy and inexpensive entertainment the shore offered. Here's our Top 5 family activities for the beach.
1. Beach combing is perfect for little shell seekers.
2. Ride a Surrey
For only $20, we rented this fabulous surrey for an hour and got our exercise biking on the promenade.
3. Cruise the Boardwalk - and be sure to indulge in games, rides, people watching, and treats like ice cream, cotton candy, or fudge.
4. Bury the kids in sand and turn them into sea creatures. Tons of fun for everyone! And you'll be sure to get some stellar photos too. I love this little octopus boy!
5. Gaze at the waves.......
Other fun activities included kite flying, boogie boarding, and playing paddle ball. The kids loved every second of our vacation - and so did Mom and Dad!
