Create Lasting Holiday Memories with Games
I have many fond memories of this time of the year, growing up in a large family. It seems like the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations took precedence over many other things, but family was always at the height of priorities. Even as we decided on gifts for friends and family members, we always asked ourselves the question of whether or not the gift would isolate the recipient or bring them closer together with their family.
Gifts like games and books were some of the best gifts we both gave and received, and even now these gifts are very welcome. Every Christmas, after the nativity story has been read, presents have been opened, dinner is devoured and dishes cleaned, my parents, my siblings, and all of our spouses gather 'round to play a game or two. The kiddos are beginning to look forward to this time, almost as much as I do, as we settle in to watch Daddy try to get Uncle Jake to guess that he's a quarterback during a game of charades.
Laughs and silliness most often ensue, but no matter how old we get, how big our families become, or how late we stay, game time on Christmas night is the most fun and memorable.
So, my best advice to you, if you're looking for a good way to bring your family together this holiday season, in a good-and-crazy kinda way, is to pull out some board games... You're sure to have a blast!
