Tickling my Funny Bone
Some of the funniest and laugh out loud conversations I have are with my kids. Each one of them has a unique and humorous outlook on things. You already know this though because you are a mom and I’m pretty sure you’ve had some knee-slap, cracking up moments with your kids too.
The funny in kids is that, there is no filter. They pretty much say what’s on their mind without much thought to what’s coming out or how it comes out. I personally love that. Yes, it’s embarrassing but if everyone had the comic genius and comedic timing that kids have… well, I’m sure we’d all laugh a lot more about life.
For example, Christmas 2010 was pretty exciting for me; I don’t know why and I probably couldn’t explain it if you begged me to, but as I was putting the kids to bed one night Shorty came to me and in a very matter of fact tone told me that if I opened his head right now all I would see were sugar plums dancing. Now where on earth he got the idea to explain his excitement this way, I will never know but some of the things that come out of his mouth are both extraordinarily hilarious and profound all at the same time. A couple of weeks ago, I was once again humored by the things my children think; Peanut and I had a very interesting discussion about being invisible and turning five soon. Apparently having a bath takes away your invisibility while staying dirty only makes your invisibility that much stronger. Out of the mouths of babes, right?
Kids have the best funny bones; I’d love to hear how do your kids make you laugh!
