Camp Gyno Commercial: Like Santa for Your Vagina!
As the mother of a nine-year-old daughter, I've given some thought to how to explain menstruation to her. I figured that along with the requisite anatomy and physiology lesson, I'd have to be sure to explain that, contrary to what you see in commercials, the liquid that comes out of you is not blue, and that it's not advisable to do cartwheels in all-white outfits during your period.
That was, until Hello Flo's "Camp Gyno"commercial came along.
What's fantastic about this commercial is how smart, funny and shameless it is. It captures that feeling of being the one who's "in the know" and the power that comes from doling out vital information.
According to their website, HelloFlo.com "Is a monthly subscription service for your period." Subscribers are sent boxes full of tampons, pads and a stash of candy timed to arrive a few days before their cycle. As the "Camp Gyno" puts it - "It's like Santa for your vagina."
Thanks, Hello Flo, for making the period talk a little more fun!
Have you had the “talk” yet with your tween/teen daughter?
