Do We Need a Law to Prevent Strangers From Touching Pregnant Bellies?
Pennsylvania recently renewed a law making it illegal to touch a pregnant woman's belly without permission.
Can't believe this has to be a law? Yeah, me neither.
I like the world. And I generally like most people. I think most people are good. Not perfect, but good. I think most of the world's problems stem from people not stopping to think of how another person might feel before they do something.
When you're pregnant, your belly goes from the bottom of your breasts to the start of your vagina. People need to stop and think: How would I feel if I'm standing on line waiting to pay for my Rice Krispies and a strange man or woman put their hands right next to my boobs?
It took a long time for me to get pregnant. So no one was happier than me when I finally was. Still, it was like being taken over by aliens. I was sick all the time. I had to pee every 10 minutes. Sometimes I was peeing WHILE I was getting sick. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
But ok, so a little being (or beings) have taken over the your insides. But now someone is invading your outsides? How much is a human being supposed to take?
It's crazy that this law actually has to be a law. Then again, not being allowed to commit murder is a law and you'd think it would go without saying that you shouldn't shoot your neighbor.
Unless he puts his hands on your pregnant belly. Then by all means, fire away.
