One Born Every Minute
Getting Your Body Back After Baby
With more and more celebrities bouncing back at non-human like speed to their pre-pregnancy figures, it's hard for us normal moms to catch a break. Nine years ago when I had my first baby, I remember everyone saying to me "9 months on, 9 months off". In other words, I should expect to take at least 9 months to lose my pregnancy weight. Now? It feels like mere weeks pass and everyone is boasting about being back in their pre-pregnancy jeans!
I'm not sure I'm a fan of worrying about getting back into my pre-pregnancy clothes - but the funny thing is that I've been wearing "pre-pregnancy" outfits this entire pregnancy. I purchased hardly any maternity clothes this time, because my style is layers and dresses that can be belted. I simply belted them above the belly.
So instead of worrying about clothes, I can actually focus on health. Is it crucial I drop the extra weight so fast? Do I really need to be back to my pre-pregnancy size so soon?
The thing is, as moms of newborns we need to be focusing on our family, on eating right, and taking care of ourselves and our children. With a healthy diet and plenty of activity, I already know I'll be on the right path!
What about you? Are you already thinking about getting back to your pre-pregnancy size?
