The Love Blues. 4 Tips to Mend a Broken Heart
Are you in men-o-pause? You know that break purposeful or unplanned from a plus one? It happens to us all. I have referred to it in the past as my men-o-pause. Right about now you may be tempted to hit someone over the head with a heart shaped box of chocolates because of all of this love talk.
Fighting the love blues after Valentine’s Day can be tough. Let’s face it. It could be the Fourth of July and the phrase “sparks flying” could send you into a tizzy. Mending a broken heart can be tough, no matter what the timeframe. But there is another way to look at it.
This is a great time to fall in love with you again. Cliché? Maybe, but the truth never gets old. Re-discovering your likes and dislikes, trying new things and enjoying the freedom of being single can actually help you attract love. Try as you might, you can’t hide what’s going on inside. People sense it and are attracted to that. And you don’t want to attract Mr. WhatWasIThinking because you are feeling sad or angry.
So what’s a girl to do to fight the love blues? Here are a few tips!
Buy your own dang chocolate. Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get but you won’t get any if you don’t get it yourself sometimes. (Warning…Go for the heart healthy dark chocolate please.)
Have a date night. That’s right you can do it. Go out dare I say it, by yourself. Not with the expectation of meeting someone but just with the expectation of having a great time by yourself.
Check yourself out. This is a great time to re-evaluate your look. Not that you aren’t looking good but trying something new like a new haircut, makeup or even a new outfit can make you feel great. Put some effort into looking great. Compliments can get us through sometimes.
Smile. It will make you feel good and that’s a scientific fact. It will also attract people to you and that’s a fact. Plus, when you think about the fact that you could be with a knucklehead you won’t be able to help but smile.
