My Funny Valentine! Seriously Funny Kid
Babies first words. Parents dream about this and bet each other on whether it will be “Mama” or “DaDa”. My daughter’s first word came on a typical Sunday afternoon at the Logan house. We were relaxing watching football and after a big play my daughter held up both arms and said “Touchdown” it was score one for Samia, zip for Mommy and Daddy. She did go on to say “DaDa” and “MaMa” and she did say “DaDa” first. Although it sounded a lot like “da, da, da, da, da, da” the theme from Sportscenter. The funny thing about babies and kids is that they can use the right words at the right time or at least the right time for them in a way that is seriously funny.
My daughter’s just one year old but she already knows how to work a crowd. Recently, my husband and I took Samia out to dinner. We were having a great time enjoying each other and racking up a little bill while doing it. During dinner my little one year old begins to belt out tunes to customers at nearby tables and the wait staff. From “Happy Birthday” to someone who was celebrating near us to “Bingo”. She was on a roll. When we got up to leave our bill was paid!
I brought my daughter to the set with me while I was working on the film that she helped inspire, “Breathe”. There were tons of lights, cameras, actors and production people running around. Elise Neal one of the actors in the film stopped to say hello and everyone sort of breaked to speak to Samia. Once the room got quiet all she could say was “Wow”.
She’s probably the funniest and definitely one of my favorite people on the planet. She’s my heart, my little valentine. My top thing that she does that makes me crack up is dancing to the beat. And not just any beat. Michael Jackson to be specific. At her Nana’s house the first thing she does is run to turn on the CD player to do some serious steppin’ to Michael Jackson’s “Bad”. She really gets on a role if there is company around yelling out “I’m Bad, I’m Bad”. It’s a cross between a Riverdance and the Paso Doble.
Life’s unscripted moments make for wonderful memories and a good belly laugh especially when they come from unfiltered and unpredictable kids. I’ve always said that I have a show business family. My husband is all show, I am all business and my daughter is the absolute star of the family. And why wouldn’t she be? After all, you know she’s bad.

The half-hour unscripted series “Seriously Funny Kids,” hosted by supermodel and supermom Heidi Klum will debut on Tuesday, February 1, at 9 pm et/pt on Lifetime.
