The Naked Truth
Spoiler alert: If you put on your skinny jeans on your way home from the hospital after giving birth this blog is not for you. If you wanted to burn your skinny jeans after coming home from the hospital and looking at your post-baby body this blog is for you.
Let’s face it most of us have had the baby body blues if only for a moment. Albeit, a long and scary look into full length mirror after getting out of the shower moment.
Yes, that once beautiful belly that you and your hubby used to kiss and caress has turned into jelly. Baby’s out and squooshy and mushy is in. Unless your name is Gisele or Heidi or some other fabulous top model name you likely will need a few weeks, months or what may seem like eternity to get your body back.
But what does that bode for the bedroom? Feeling blue about your body doesn’t put you in that romantic sort of mode. But that’s just it, isn’t it? Even though we put so much emphasis on looks, the bedroom is really about feelings. How you make your partner feel and how you feel about yourself.
It’s pretty clear that your man likes you, hence that newborn. Now, there’s just more of you to love. It’s not all about getting your pre-baby body back. It’s about getting a body that is healthy and that you feel good about give or take a few pounds. It’s about knowing how powerful you and your body are. Nothing is sexier than confidence.
And if you still need a little help boosting your confidence remember there is no shame in hiding. Put a robe on it. Or a nightie or his silk pajama top whatever you prefer. And you won’t be mad when you see that he wants it.
