Pour One More For Your Family’s Health
I’m a self-proclaimed slash. I am a writer/producer/executive/wife/mommy. So I’m definitely a multi-tasking mom who needs her nutrition to do the same thing. That’s why I’ve Got Milk at the top of my family’s beverage list. Milk is not just a drink, it promotes strong bones and muscles; milk is packed with vitamins; milk is great for your hair, skin and nails; milk helps to reduce cavities; milk tastes good.
Did I mention that women who drink milk tend to weigh less and have less body fat? Getting my pre-pregnancy shape back was a tall order… of milk. (I lost 100 pounds after giving birth to my daughter!)
Being a good role model to my daughter is also so important to me. She wants to do, say and drink what Mommy does. I'm going to milk that for as long as possible. The story of my life is all about juggling motherhood, making movies and blogging about everything in between. A busy mom needs a super drink to stay healthy inside and out. Making the right choice is easy, especially when it tastes this good.
Want a few of my milk must haves? Here’s a few ways that I pour one more glass of milk.
I am fanatical about smooth and beautiful skin. I give myself a milk mask weekly. The lactic acid in milk is known to soothe and soften dry, itchy skin. Milk also helps to moisturize and refine pores.
Milk Face Mask
Mix a teaspoon of milk with a tablespoon of honey. Start with a clean and dry face. Apply the milk face mask to your face and neck massaging it in gently. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then, wash your face with warm water and gently pat dry.
And here’s a great way to start your day.
- 1 1/2 cups fat free or lowfat milk
- 1 peeled and sliced medium banana, frozen
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, optional
- Cinnamon for garnish, optional
Directions
In a blender container combine all ingredients, except cinnamon. Blend until smooth, about 20 seconds. Pour into glasses and garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, if desired.
