Unhealthy Vices - Curb or Indulge?
I can't imagine any woman being a stranger to unhealthy vices. Most of the time they are food related, right? At least I know mine are. It's called emotional eating. Let's all just admit we do it, shall we ladies?
But what can we do about it? That nagging craving, that need for a cupcake RIGHT NOW. The jonesing for mexican food that wont go away. Here are some things I've come up with that help even this crazy craving filled preggo mama:
1. Try to make my indulgences from scratch. There's something to be said for indulging in a homemade, organic, no fillers and no chemicals pan of brownies than there is in the store bought kind. If I can at least be indulging in clean food, it helps my body not hate me completely the next day.
2. Try to do something else. I've noticed that getting really busy in a new craft or sewing project, going shopping (maybe that's another vice...?) makes sitting around contemplating those leftover chocolate Easter bunnies a bit harder.
3. Try to cut myself a break. If nothing else, sometimes indulging is just needed. During pregnancy it could be my body wanting a particular nutrient (wanting really salty popcorn? Blood sugar might need a boost). During every day life it might just make me feel better. And in moderation? That's ok by me.
